With the new year right around the corner, we've been thinking about the key to health and happiness. Yoga keeps coming to mind as something I want and need to do more of. However, the November issue of Health Magazine had an article that listed the top "germiest places" and your yoga mat makes the top ten list! Eww. I think the YOUR is the key word in that sentence, because as long as a mat is a breeding ground for germs, they might as well be your own. A few weeks ago I went to a yoga class and ended up sliding around on a smelly, wet gym mat instead of doing "downward dog." Being totally grossed out by my encounter with someone else's sweat, I quickly learned about Manduka, a Southern California-based yoga and pilates equipment company.
If you haven't already picked up your own mat, you've gotta get one of these eco-friendly finds from Manduka. Even for those of you who do, this is a perfect time to start the new year with a new mat that lets you do "child's pose" in peace.
